Sliding Steel Gate in Surrey

Description:

Bespoke automatic sliding steel gate, powder coated grey

Brief:

The owners of a striking contemporary house wanted to install gates that would enhance the exterior of their modern home and provide good security and easy access in a relatively limited space. They requested the gate to be no more then 1m high so to avoid planning consent and be in keeping with the existing walls.

What the client said:

“We were very impressed by the quality of the advice and the attention Windlesham Gates paid to ensuring that we got the best product for our home. We are delighted with the overall look and it works beautifully. The extra security that comes from a sliding, rather than a hinged, gate gives us additional peace of mind.”

Safety:

Manual release mechanism, two safety sensors (photocells)

Solution:

A bespoke sliding steel gate was commissioned and made by our local manufacturer, who also powder coated it in a dark grey to complement existing iron work. Two box steels serve as support and end stops for the gate. These are concreted into the ground, along with a track runner. Two 24v up lighters are activated when the gate opens – these were inserted into existing granite sets. A wireless access control system was installed in which would allow non-residents of the property to call up to the house to gain access.

Automation:

BFT motor

Access Control:

Wirelesss Diatem access control unit, three transmitter fobs (remote controls), two manual release keys (for use in event of power cut)
